Job description

JOB TITLE : ENGINEER (ENGINEERING MECHANICAL / ELECTROMECHANICAL)

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Conduct engineering studies related to the MEP field to provide clear and well-supported recommendations based on the results of the studies.
  • Prepare a clear and understandable scope of work for transmission projects, aligned with the Project Parameter Report, to ensure coverage of DEWA's requirements and avoid ambiguities. Review amendments and technical queries during tendering, and review technical offers and deviations from bidders.
  • Review and comment on design drawings, documents, materials, BIM models, and vendor submissions to ensure quality and compliance with DEWA's specifications and scope. Finalize non-compliance notes on submittals.
  • Attend factory inspections to verify product compliance with DEWA standards and document observations. Review compliance statements and recommend issuance of Dispatch Clearance.
  • Participate in technical, design, and progress meetings to resolve issues and ensure project continuity.
  • Liaise with DEWA departments to address technical issues and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in raising change requests for technical specifications to optimize future projects, incorporating lessons learned and market conditions.
  • Assist in materials conformity and approval processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Investigate and address issues reported through feedback mechanisms.
  • Conduct site visits and quality audits to verify work compliance and gather stakeholder feedback. Attend site investigations for failed equipment as needed.
  • Drive innovation and support corporate excellence by sharing knowledge with colleagues and subordinates.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information during and after employment.
  • Adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual in line with DEWA's safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechanical Engineering

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in MEP
  • Problem-solving skills for technical solutions
  • Knowledge of International Standards (IEEE, IEC, BS)
  • Proficiency in technical report writing
  • Experience with engineering design software (e.g., BIM, Revit) preferred
