Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Marine Engineer to join our supervision team on a landmark buildings project in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all marine-related works within a major building construction project. Working on a supervision consultancy framework, you will ensure that marine engineering works are executed in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and inspect marine-related activities, including foundation piles, marine excavation, cofferdams, dewatering, shoring, and retaining structures associated with building developments near waterfronts.
  • Review and monitor contractor submissions, including method statements, risk assessments, shop drawings, and material approvals related to marine works.
  • Ensure marine engineering works comply with project specifications, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues impacting marine works.
  • Attend site meetings and prepare detailed inspection and progress reports on marine engineering activities.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor claims, variations, and ensure compliance with contract obligations.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering (with marine specialization), or related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience, with at least 3 years in supervision roles on marine or coastal engineering components of building or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with supervision consultants or engineering consultants on large-scale developments.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methodologies, geotechnical considerations, and local authority requirements.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
