About the Job:

The Civil Engineer will monitor and approve engineering procedures, plans, and schedules for the civil scope of work related to the Early Works Project. The role involves overseeing the Contractor's civil and design activities, acting as the company's civil project advisor, and ensuring best practices in civil engineering are followed. The engineer will direct screening, conceptual, and detailed designs for new field developments, ensuring design practices are consistent and meet safety, economic, and technical standards to align with project requirements and company objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and advice in Civil Engineering to Asset Teams, Project & Technical Support units, and other functions.
  • Coordinate communication and meetings with EPC Contractors regarding civil and structural engineering and design requirements.
  • Participate in project review meetings, progress meetings, and reviews with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, quality standards, project specifications, and design changes.
  • Recommend new vendors and subcontractors for civil works to the Procurement Department.
  • Review technical reports such as studies, value engineering, peer reviews, and project reviews.
  • Participate in design and technical reviews during various project phases to ensure compliance with civil and structural requirements.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of screening, option analysis, and conceptual design for new field developments.
  • Standardize civil and structural design practices, including basis, specifications, and philosophies, across projects.
  • Initiate comprehensive studies for major structural changes or asset expansions.
  • Participate in investigations related to structural failures.
  • Verify design integrity for FEED and detailed engineering of major projects.
  • Support pre-qualification processes for contractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in developing training programs aligned with ADNOC guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the UAE/GCC, preferably in oil and gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
