Job summary

AECOM is seeking a driven Electrical Engineer for an on-site role in Dubai, UAE. You will deliver high-quality electrical solutions across a diverse project portfolio, applying local regulations and international standards.

The role requires strong BIM capabilities and collaboration with multiple disciplines to achieve timely project milestones. Ideal candidates have a civil/infrastructure mindset, 3+ years of design experience, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Design of electrical systems using Civil3D; experience with BIM tools is required.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• More than 3 years of design experience; construction supervision not preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering solutions across diverse projects in Dubai.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai/UAE Authority guidelines and international standards.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams (wet, roads, landscape, buildings).
• Develop master plans, design drawings, SLDs, load schedules and reports.
• Prepare NOC submissions and respond to contractor RFIs as needed.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to drive approvals.
• Lead design reviews and ensure timely deliverables.
• Utilize BIM tools to support design and coordination activities.
• Support digitalization, process improvements, and cross-team collaboration.

Job Description

We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this full-time position, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative spirit, and a solid understanding of both local UAE regulations and international engineering standards. • Strong understanding of Dubai/ Abu Dhabi/ KSA Authority Guidelines, standards, and requirements
• Full understanding of dry utilities and infrastructure project requirements from the Concept masterplan stage to IFC stage.
• Strong infrastructure engineering background with previous experience on infrastructure projects Understanding of the requirements for primary substations, EHV, HV & LV corridors, distribution substations, pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets, HV up to 33kV, LV networks, calculations, report writing skills.
• Telecommunication infrastructure Network Design including ducts, manholes, and knowledge of GSM tower coverage requirements
• Design of Street Lighting for all types of roads, ROW, Lighting Calculations, SLDs, Load schedules, landscape lighting, branch wiring etc.,
• Coordination with other disciplines such as wet, roads, transportation, landscape, and building teams
• Ability to manage design and approval process interfacing with the project team, Clients, and Stakeholders
• Experienced in BIM In-depth understanding of relevant software is a must, Revit knowledge is additional.
• Understanding from Concept master plan stage to Detailed Master Plan in terms of utility corridor space proofing, ROW, utilities requirements and develop Master plan calculations and reports
• Coordination with all local authorities of Middle East
• Prepare NOC submissions as per relevant authorities’ requirements
• Prepare Clarifications to Contractor RFIs, Review/approve any key technical submittals related to electrical works and dry utilities (if required)
• Work towards digitalization skills, innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
• Using leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and also create effective working environments
• Able to work with multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams

Qualifications

• Design of electrical systems using Civil3D Experience and skills including ProjectWise, Infraworks, Navisworks, BIM etc
• Minimum Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering
• More than 3 years of experience in Design Only, Construction Supervision Candidates not preferred
