The Engineer Course Design role encompasses the entire UAE SAT process, including analysis, design, and delivery when required. The Specialist collaborates closely with platform Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop specific components for each phase of the UAE SAT process. If responsible for analyzing a particular job, the Specialist ensures that Course Training Plans are designed in accordance with UAE SAT methodology. The role also functions as a training consultant for both internal and external clients.
The position may require local travel and working from multiple locations, depending on the Analysis / Development plan, priorities set by the Training Management Committee, and the Training Development Manager.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop policies and procedures related to training program design, including assessment plans, technical content documentation, and training delivery.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
- Plan and manage Job Task Analysis (JTA) visits and meetings.
- Perform training scoping studies.
- Conduct JTA interviews and observations.
- Identify, analyze, and document job duties, tasks, sub-tasks, performances, conditions, and standards.
- Determine qualifications, experience, and personal qualities required for roles.
- Write job descriptions and specifications.
- Identify training findings and prepare JTA reports with recommendations.
- Document formal training requirements.
- Develop Training Performance Statements (TPS) using Training Factors Analysis (TFA), including performance, conditions, and standards.
- Analyze training activities using Difficulty, Importance, and Frequency (DIF) analysis.
- Establish Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude (KSA) changes needed for effective training design.
- Identify and document course prerequisites.
- Proofread and edit documentation for quality, readability, and consistency.
- Familiarity with Instructional analysis procedures.
- Plan and design instructional/technical training, including instructor-led, e-learning, classroom, and practical activities, based on JTA and TPS.
- Develop training materials in collaboration with technical SMEs, aligned with company standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure training materials are up-to-date with latest aircraft specifications and standards.
- Develop training using the UAE SAT Instructional Systems Design model.
- Create training materials according to UAE SAT Manual and GAL Policies.
- Prepare visual and teaching aids for training delivery.
- Deliver training sessions when required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in training processes, considering best practices, cost, and productivity.
- Stay updated on new analysis, development, and assessment tools/software.
- Prepare and communicate MIS reports timely and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Higher diploma, or diploma in Aviation.
- Certification as a Course Designer.
- Qualified Internal Verifier (IV) or equivalent.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of training experience, preferably in aerospace/aviation.
- 1-2 years as a Training Designer, preferably in aerospace/aviation.
- Experience with Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or ADDIE processes.
- Proven experience in developing training materials.
- Strong knowledge of UAE SAT / ADDIE methodology.
