Job summary

News Corporation is seeking an experienced Energy Journalist / Editor to lead breaking news and insights across energy and commodity sectors. The role will cover OPEC, IEA perspectives, supply/demand fundamentals, and global energy trading themes, with initial focus west of Suez.

The candidate will write, analyze data, and produce multimedia content, including short-form video explainers, while collaborating with editors, price reporters, and a data-visualisation team to deliver trusted energy

Qualifications

• Five years of journalism experience in a newsroom or equivalent preferred.
• Strong portfolio of breaking energy news and insights in energy sectors.
• Ability to analyze data and extract actionable insights for readers.

Responsibilities

• Write and research: originate and author breaking news and insights in the energy sector.
• Data analysis: work with datasets and report-based information across energy/commodities.
• Create short-form video explainers to accompany stories.
• Collaborate with editors and price reporters to weave energy benchmarks into reports.
