Dow Jones Energy seeks an Energy Journalist/Editor in Dubai with a proven track record in breaking energy news and insights. You will cover energy trading, policy, geopolitics, and commodity markets, delivering data-driven reporting from West of Suez and beyond.

You will write, research, analyze datasets, and record short video reels to explain key energy issues. Collaboration with editors and price reporters to weave price benchmarks into stories is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of journalism experience in a newsroom.
• Strong portfolio of breaking energy news and insights, including interviews with energy newsmakers.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Ability to analyze data and break news through data.
• Experience developing sources in energy markets and energy trading.
• Proficiency in multimedia storytelling and CMS (NewsPress).
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Write and research: originate and author breaking news and insights in energy trading, energy policy and geopolitics.
• Data analysis: source and work with data sets and report-based information across energy and commodities.
• Create short-form video reels to explain key energy issues.
• Collaborate with editors, writers and price reporters to integrate Dow Jones energy price benchmarks into coverage.
