Job Description

We are seeking an Energy Meteorologist who can deliver high-impact weather forecasts and insights specifically for intraday through month-ahead horizons in the European Gas and Power markets. You will collaborate closely with traders and analysts to identify weather-driven trading opportunities, using your expertise to optimize strategies and contribute directly to our commercial success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, detailed meteorological forecasts and analyses forintraday, day-ahead, and month-ahead trading horizons, focusing on how weather impacts European Gas and Power prices.
  • Develop and maintain advanced statistical and numerical models to capture the nuanced relationships between weather patterns and short-term market volatility.
  • Translate complex meteorological data into clear insights that inform our commercial decisions. Present actionable intelligence to traders, analysts, and senior leadership.
  • Partner with the commercial team to fine-tune trading strategies. Work closely with data scientists, developers, and fellow meteorologists to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay on top of the latest advancements in both meteorological science and energy trading practices. Rapidly adapt forecasting models to evolving market conditions.

Requirements

  • At least 2–3 years as an Energy Meteorologist, with a proven track record in intraday to month-ahead energy trading environments.
  • Strong understanding of European Gas and Power markets, including how weather fluctuations shape demand, supply, and price dynamics.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Physics, Geoscience, or a related discipline. Advanced degrees are welcome but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex weather data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical approach, problem-solving abilities, and a results-oriented focus. A collaborative team player who thrives under pressure in fast-paced trading environments.
