The Embassy of the Republic South Africa in Abu Dhabi seeks a full-time Embassy Driver/Messenger to perform essential transport duties. Candidates should have at least five years of experience as a messenger, a high school certificate, and proficiency in both English and Arabic, along with a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include delivering important documents, serving as a back-up driver, and ensuring that the vehicle is well-maintained and compliant with UAE traffic laws.
POST ADVERT: EMBASSY DRIVER / MESSENGER (FULL TIME) SA EMBASSY, ABU DHABI
Qualifications and Experience:
· A minimum of a High School Certificate / diploma or equivalent qualification.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Messenger
· Must have a valid driver's license.
· Proficiency in English and Arabic (Read, Write & Speak)
· Basic knowledge of office operations and general administrative tasks.

· Knowledge of city locations is essential.
· Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations.
· Must know and practice defensive driving.
· Must understand protocol and diplomatic courtesies.
Core Functions:
· Perform messenger services as per the embassy operational schedule, by delivering important documents, correspondence, and invitations.
· Serve as back-up driver to the Head of Mission during the absence of the Ambassador’s Chauffeur.
· Transport visiting delegations, officials & staff within Abu Dhabi and other regions within the UAE.
· Perform daily checks on tires, oil, fuel, water, battery as well as washing and cleaning of the car.
· Keep vehicle operation record on mileage, oil and fuel purchases.
· Remain calm under pressure and manage unexpected situations in a professional manner.
· Plan routes efficiently to avoid traffic delays.
· Follow all the UAE traffic laws and safety regulations.
· Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and sufficiently fuelled.
· Handle sensitive documents responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
Additional Selection Criteria:
v The candidate should be in Abu Dhabi on a valid Visa or UAE residency during application, interview and appointment (The Embassy does not pay any travel and/or relocation allowances to any potential candidate of the post)
v It is the responsibility of the candidate to convert any foreign licence to a local license (should the candidate be selected for employment).
