Health 7 Careers invites applications for a Consultant/Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a premier tertiary-care hospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on complex cardiac and thoracic procedures in a multispecialty setting, backed by state-of-the-art operating theatres and advanced imaging.

The successful candidate will lead surgical management of complex conditions, participate in heart-team discussions, and ensure high standards of patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Applications are welcome from surgeons holding recognised specialist qualifications such as those listed.
• Licensing guidance and support will be provided where applicable.
• Candidates should have a minimum of 3+ years post-specialist certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and complex cardiac surgeries.
• Conduct thoracic surgical procedures such as lung resections and mediastinal surgeries.
• Utilise minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques where appropriate.
• Manage pre-operative evaluation and planning for cardiac and thoracic patients.
• Provide postoperative care and coordination with ICU and critical care teams.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, and intensivists for comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in heart-team discussions and multidisciplinary case reviews.
• Manage cardiothoracic emergencies including acute cardiac conditions and thoracic trauma.
• Interpret advanced imaging data (echocardiography, CT, catheterisation) for planning.
