Summary: The Adjuster is responsible for the adjustment, testing and commissioning of Elevators/Escalators. This includes carrying out critical mechanical and electrical adjustments, ensuring compliance with company quality standards, and maintaining tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Required Qualifications: . Education/Experience:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
- More than 2 years of experience in Elevator and Escalator Adjustment or Testing and commissioning.
Job Responsibilities: 2.1. Safety:
- Adhere to all company and site safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per installation procedures and risk assessments/ as per company policy.
- Maintain assigned PPE in good condition.
- Ensure proper use of jumpers and Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) systems.
- Immediately report safety violations, hazards, near misses and incidents to the supervisor and assist in corrective actions.
2.2. Quality:
- Follow all installation, commissioning, and quality procedures set by the company.
- Comply with local authority regulations.
- Adhere to international standards and codes (e.g. EN, ISO, ASME).
- Support third-party inspections and certification processes.
- Achieve planned schedules as defined by AIM and supervisors, in line with company procedures.
2.3. Job site Activities:
- Review approved drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Perform mechanical and electrical installation, inspection, and adjustments of elevators and escalators in accordance with factory specifications and safety codes.
- Configure controller parameters and drive systems (speed, floor settings, door timing, VVVF drives, etc.).
- Perform encoder alignment, motor tuning, and fine-tuning.
- Adjust and calibrate door mechanisms for proper operation.
- Inspect and test all safety circuits.
- Verify proper functioning of mandatory systems (Alarm system, Fire interfaces, ARD (Automatic Rescue Device), MRD (Manual Rescue Device), etc...).
- Conduct functional testing (Load test, Safety gear, governor, limits, brakes, etc...).
- Perform NI-OPMO testing and ensure results are properly recorded.
- Utilize company systems via Company allocated devices for accurate and timely reporting. Inspect wiring connections and control panel terminations, ensuring proper hook-ups, and adjusts switch settings to meet specified requirements for clearance (gap) and operational timing.
- Trouble shooting skills, identify and rectify Electrical and communication errors of control/Drive system.
- Attend and complete all assigned technical trainings and certification programs within the stipulated time.
3.2. Knowledge/skills:
- Read and understand electrical and mechanical layout drawings.
- Able to install, adjust, test & commission all Elevators/Escalator.
- Assist project team in third party inspections, client and consultant inspections.
- Trouble shooting skills, and Capability in fault finding within short time.
- Onsite technical coaching skills. Proficiency in electrical equipment and testing tools and equipment.
- Identify product quality and product safety deviations and fix permanently as per company standard.
- Final adjustments of mechanical and electrical installation.
- Capability in Commissioning/ Adjusting the work within prescribed time.
- Sufficient knowledge in providing technical support.
- Utilizes diagnostic tools and instruments such as multi meter, tachometers, ammeters, clamp meters (tong testers), and insulation resistance testers (megger) to perform accurate testing, fault identification, and system analysis.
