Job summary

EDGE is seeking a hands-on hardware prototyping technician in Abu Dhabi to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and prototypes. You will support hardware development, perform basic data acquisition tasks, and maintain thorough documentation while following safety and quality practices.

The role emphasizes lab work, schematic comprehension, soldering, and collaboration with engineers, with potential exposure to LabVIEW for data tasks.

Qualifications

• Diploma or cert in Electrical/Electronic Technology.
• Workshop/manufacturing experience.
• Soldering and circuit assembly knowledge.
• Experience with veroboard and copper PCBs.
• Ability to read basic circuit schematics.
• LabVIEW exposure (bonus).

Responsibilities

• Lead Rig Operations: Assemble and solder components on veroboards and copper PCBs based on provided schematics.
• Assist in the development, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems.
• Support hardware prototyping, integration, and debugging.
• Conduct basic electrical measurements using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab instruments.
• Maintain organized documentation of circuit diagrams, component inventories, and test results.
• Adhere to standard safety and quality procedures when working with electrical components.
• (Bonus) Support LabVIEW setup and data acquisition tasks if experienced.
• Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols during all testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and internal safety policies.
• Accurately document all test data, findings, and outcomes in logs or systems.
• Provide clear, timely updates and reports to senior engineering staff on progress and identified issues.
• Identify and propose improvements to test procedures, tools, or workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
