Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVES: Carry out the installation of all electrical equipment and cable laying as per work instructions in order to meet the client/yard requirements in on-board vessels and workshops.

Policies, processes & procedures: Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Follow and comply with information security rules and data security measures to protect the company information/intellectual properties.

Day-to-day operations:

1. Pulling and laying of electrical cables.
2. Mounting of electrical control panels.
3. Electrical component and light fittings.
4. Electrical cable termination and glanding.
5. Reading, understanding of electrical drawings and task execution.
6. Megger test and troubleshooting of electrical circuits.

Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

Participating in any training and safety initiatives implemented by the company. Complying with all safety directives and work instructions. Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their supervisor or safety department. STOP the task if you feel yourself or others may be harmed.

Language skills: Basic knowledge in English. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.

Technical competencies: Able to understand electrical drawings and terminology to execute the task as a Mariner Electrician.

Behavioural Competencies: Safety, quality and environment conscious. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Attendance & punctuality. Team oriented.

CHALLENGES: To complete given jobs on time with the highest quality and safety standards with no incidents or accidents in extreme weather conditions.

Education: Secondary school / High school & above

Training: Reading and understanding electrical drawings and symbols. Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present work-related information to their immediate supervisor and subordinates as necessary. Must have attended a minimum of 6 months full-time training.

Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as an Electrician / 2 years shipyard experience as a Marine Electrician.
