Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Planning Manager – Electrical to lead planning and project control for electrical, power transmission, distribution, substations, and infrastructure projects in Dubai. You will develop programmes, monitor progress, manage the planning team, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-schedule delivery.

The role requires 10–15 years of relevant experience, strong Primavera P6 and MS Project skills, and proven leadership in complex electrical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in electrical/power planning and project controls.
• Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Proven experience managing planning teams on multiple electrical projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction planning, scheduling, resource planning, progress measurement, and project controls.
• Experience with baseline programmes, critical path analysis, recovery schedules, S-curves, productivity tracking, and delay analysis.
• Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Leadership, analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning team and ensure timely completion of planning deliverables.
• Develop, review, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Prepare project WBS, activity sequencing, construction programmes, resource requirements, and milestones.
• Develop detailed schedules covering electrical works such as cable laying, installation, substations, transmission and distribution networks, testing, commissioning, and energization.
• Monitor actual progress against the baseline and identify delays, slippages, risks.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Electrical Engineers, Site Teams, Procurement, Commercial/QS, QA/QC, HSE, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and look-ahead schedules.
• Track manpower, materials, equipment, productivity, and work fronts against planned targets.
• Monitor activities related to material procurement, delivery, cable pulling, installation, testing, commissioning, inspections, approvals, and energization.
• Track engineering deliverables, drawings, submittals, material approvals, inspections, and approvals against schedule.
• Prepare S-curves, progress reports, histograms, dashboards, productivity reports, and management reports.
• Conduct critical path analysis and identify activities that may impact project completion.
• Develop recovery programmes and mitigation plans and monitor their implementation.
• Review subcontractor and supplier programmes for alignment with the overall schedule.
• Coordinate with procurement and engineering to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Track milestones related to installation, testing, commissioning, authority approvals, energization, and final handover.
• Conduct planning and progress review meetings and follow up on actions.
• Coordinate with clients and consultants regarding programme submissions, progress updates, delays, and recovery plans.
• Assist in EOT, delay analysis, disruption, and time-related claims where required.
• Maintain records of delays, variations, instructions, approvals, and schedule documentation.
• Identify potential risks and provide early warnings and corrective recommendations.
• Review and approve planning reports, schedules, forecasts, and progress submissions.
• Allocate responsibilities within the planning team and ensure deliverables meet deadlines.
• Provide guidance on planning, priorities, resources, and recovery strategies.
• Support senior management in resource forecasting, project performance reviews, strategic planning, and prioritisation.
• Ensure proper planning procedures and project control systems are followed across projects.
• Train and mentor junior planning staff and coordinate with internal departments and subcontractors.
