Job description

We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Shift Supervisor to join our Operations team at Guardian Ras Al Khaimah.

The Maintenance Engineer will assist in leading the maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual with a passion for safety, manufacturing, and customer focus. You will promote safety excellence by encouraging employee involvement, ownership, and accountability. Additionally, you will proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigation strategies based on risk assessments, monitor shift activities including corrective and preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, continuous improvements, and quality of work, while providing guidance to the team. This role is critical in providing input to management and positively influencing organizational outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Establish leadership within the team and promote a principled management culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety practices and company guidelines.
  • Support production processes to optimize manufacturing and deliver value.
  • Identify and mitigate EHS risks proactively, including physical conditions, procedures, and behaviors.
  • Ensure smooth operation of plant equipment during shifts by attending to breakdowns and executing routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance activities effectively during shifts.
  • Monitor the quality of craft work and guide team members to maximize efficiency.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance tasks across departments.
  • Review work instructions and preventive maintenance plans regularly to improve efficiency and address gaps.
  • Identify and execute projects to eliminate waste and optimize resources.
  • Mentor new technicians in equipment knowledge, troubleshooting, and replacement procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with area engineers on transformation projects.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Significant experience in medium to large-scale continuous process manufacturing industries.
  • Proven managerial skills.
  • Ability to work in rotating shifts.
  • Knowledge of reliability concepts and experience applying precision maintenance techniques.
  • Experience using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or similar problem-solving tools.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with maintenance reporting tools.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Certifications or hands-on expertise in PLC systems (Siemens preferred).
  • Knowledge of HMI, SCADA systems (e.g., GE iFix), Profibus, and other industrial communication systems.
  • Experience with VFDs, induction motors, servo motors, control circuits, and process instrumentation & calibration.
  • Familiarity with 33KV switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, and diesel generators.
  • Knowledge of auxiliary systems such as air compressors and weighing scales.
