https://careers.atkinsrealis.comWe are looking for an experienced and dynamic Electrical Lead with a strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure projects to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the electrical design and coordination of critical water sector projects, ensuring they meet the highest technical and safety standards.
Responsibilities:- Lead the electrical engineering design and delivery for water and wastewater projects such as pumping stations, water treatment plants, desalination systems, and distribution networks.
- Prepare and review electrical design documents including single line diagrams, load calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and process engineers to deliver cohesive, interdisciplinary solutions.
- Manage technical input and ensure electrical designs are compliant with client requirements, international codes, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee and mentor a team of electrical engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Provide technical guidance during tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and authorities to facilitate design approvals and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety, sustainability, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Certification is required - Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical design and supervision, with a strong focus on major water/wastewater infrastructure.
- Prior experience in GCC or large-scale government/utility projects is highly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local authority regulations.
- Proficiency in design tools such as ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit, and lighting/power system design software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage client relationships effectively.
