RMJM is seeking to appoint an Electrical Inspector to support the continued growth of our Dubai Studio.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Assist the Electrical Engineer in performing contractual duties on site.
- Attend to Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practices.
- Report works carried out by the contractor that do not conform to approved drawings and specifications, and inform stakeholders for appropriate action.
- Monitor the quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual/QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
- Maintain records of daily activities on site, including progress photos, ensuring they are readily available for inspection.
- Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCR) if required.
- Ensure effective coordination between discipline-related works and other disciplines.
- Provide technical input to resolve discipline-related issues on site.
- Carry out snagging/de-snagging inspections and ensure works are handed over at the required quality level.
- Inspect all testing and commissioning of electrical & instrumentation systems to meet project requirements.
- Ensure work is performed in strict accordance with plans and specifications.
- Inspect material requests, verify quantities and compliance, and approve requests.
- Inspect electrical & instrumentation installation works as per approved drawings.
- Identify and actively address safety-critical aspects of the project.
- Monitor the application of quality control procedures during construction.
- Regularly communicate site progress information.
- Assist in reviewing O&M manuals and As-Built drawings.
- Coordinate work for the successful hand-over of the project.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 7 years of electrical construction experience on major projects, preferably in the Gulf region.
- Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively within the project team.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications, with thorough knowledge of construction processes related to the area of assignment.
