Job description

RMJM is seeking to appoint an Electrical Inspector to support the continued growth of our Dubai Studio.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

1. Assist the Electrical Engineer in performing contractual duties on site.
2. Attend to Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
3. Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practices.
4. Report works carried out by the contractor that do not conform to approved drawings and specifications, and inform stakeholders for appropriate action.
5. Monitor the quality of works and assess site safety, including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual/QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
6. Maintain records of daily activities on site, including progress photos, ensuring they are readily available for inspection.
7. Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCR) if required.
8. Ensure effective coordination between discipline-related works and other disciplines.
9. Provide technical input to resolve discipline-related issues on site.
10. Carry out snagging/de-snagging inspections and ensure works are handed over at the required quality level.
11. Inspect all testing and commissioning of electrical & instrumentation systems to meet project requirements.
12. Ensure work is performed in strict accordance with plans and specifications.
13. Inspect material requests, verify quantities and compliance, and approve requests.
14. Inspect electrical & instrumentation installation works as per approved drawings.
15. Identify and actively address safety-critical aspects of the project.
16. Monitor the application of quality control procedures during construction.
17. Regularly communicate site progress information.
18. Assist in reviewing O&M manuals and As-Built drawings.
19. Coordinate work for the successful hand-over of the project.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
2. Minimum of 7 years of electrical construction experience on major projects, preferably in the Gulf region.
3. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively within the project team.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications, with thorough knowledge of construction processes related to the area of assignment.
