To manage and oversee the preparation and analysis of costing, quantity take off and preparing the Bills of Quantities (BOQ), tender documentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to handling tender and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
BOQ Preparation:
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on tender drawings and specifications.
Extract quantities from tender drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Tender Documentation:
Develop and manage tender documentation queries to consultants/clients, ensuring the collection of all missing or unclear data.
Coordinate reviews of draft tender documents, ensuring inclusion of all required systems and components.
Cost Estimation:
Conduct detailed cost estimation for MEP works, including pricing and rate buildup of materials, labor, plant, and miscellaneous items.
Compare and analyze costs for efficient budgeting and tender submission.
Technical Correspondence:
Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities to address discrepancies in specifications, technical details, and BOQ.
Raise queries and provide clarification to ensure tender requirements are fully met.
Subcontractor Management:
Invite quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, perform negotiations, and conduct comparative analyses to finalize cost-effective options.
Ensure compliance with contract requirements and provide insights to mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying and cost estimation.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in BOQ preparation, take-off quantities, and cost estimation.
Strong understanding of MEP systems
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, estimation tools).
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
