WHY ARTELIA?
Join Artelia, an international engineering, consulting and project management group delivering complex and sustainable projects across infrastructure, buildings, mobility, water and energy.
In the Middle East, you’ll join a multicultural and growing environment where you can take ownership and make a visible impact.
THE ROLE
The electrical Engineer will provide electrical project and design engineering services, including technical advice, field management, and stakeholder coordination, while ensuring compliance with UAE authority codes, IATA/ICAO aviation standards, and international best practices. The Electrical Engineer contributes to the safe, sustainable, and timely delivery of projects from concept to completion.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Phase 1: High-Impact Design & Engineering
- End-to-End Delivery: Own the electrical design lifecycle—from initial concept to tender-ready documentation—utilizing Autodesk Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and modern AI design platforms.
- Complex Infrastructure Modeling: Design and engineer complex MV/LV power distribution, critical backup systems (Generators, UPS), lighting, fire alarms, BMS/SCADA, Solar PV grids, and EV charging infrastructures.
- Advanced Simulation: Perform precise load calculations, short-circuit mapping, voltage-drop assessments, and protection coordination studies using ETAP or equivalent engineering software.
- Aviation Compliance: Architect specialized airport electrical systems in strict alignment with IATA ADRM and ICAO Annexes standards.
- Regulatory Mastery: Guarantee seamless compliance with GCC/UAE authority codes, including DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, and SEC.
- Sustainability & Estimation: Integrate green building methodologies tracking Estidama and LEED frameworks. Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors to deliver highly accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and cost approximations.
Phase 2: Site Supervision
- Technical Review: Evaluate and clear complex shop drawings, critical material submittals, safety-centric method statements, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- On-Site Quality Assurance: Supervise field electrical installations to mandate strict alignment with safety regulations, engineering codes, and contract clauses.
- Rigorous Field Audits: Field scheduled site checks via Work Inspection Requests (WIR), providing technical, accurate commentary to optimize installation quality.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 8–10 years of solid electrical design experience, including 3+ years dedicated to BIM-enabled projects. Aviation project experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Active membership with the UAE Society of Engineers. Possession of an Abu Dhabi engineering license (or explicit eligibility to obtain one) is mandatory.
- BIM & Collaboration: Power-user capabilities in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, Navisworks, and cloud collaboration via BIM 360.
- AI & Engineering Tools: Practical experience with AI-driven electrical design tools alongside engineering simulation software (ETAP/Amtech, Dialux, etc.).
- Global & Local Standards: Deep working knowledge of international design frameworks (British Standards, NFPA, IEC) as well as UAE municipal requirements.
- Flawless written and spoken English communication skills.
- High adaptability, exceptional problem-solving traits, and a collaborative team player mindset.
