Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the electrical systems of our state-of-the-art robotic warehouse. This role ensures the reliable operation of automated material handling equipment (AMHE), including robotic pickers, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyors, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in industrial electrical systems, automation, and robotics, with experience working in the UAE or GCC region.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in robotic systems (servo motors, PLCs, sensors, power distribution).
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on high-voltage (up to 480V) and low-voltage (24VDC) systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled automation systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, similar systems).
- Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal cameras) for circuit testing and failure analysis.
Automation&Robotics Support:
- Work closely with robotics technicians to resolve electromechanical and control system issues.
- Ensure seamless integration between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and electrical control systems.
- Maintained and updated electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation.
- Implement IoT-based condition monitoring for critical electrical components.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with UAE regulations (DEWA/ADDC standards, IEC, NEC).
- Follow strict safety protocols (LOTO, arc flash protection, PPE requirements).
- Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety audits.
- Assist in commissioning new robotic systems and upgrading existing infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities to optimize energy efficiency and system reliability.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for critical components.
Qualifications&Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in warehouse/logistics automation.
- Proficiency in:
- PLC programming/troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and similar equipment).
- Ability to read and modify electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- UAE/GCC experience preferred (familiarity with local electrical codes and standards).
Preferred:
- Experience with warehouse robotics (AutoStore, Locus, Geek+, Kiva, and similar equipment).
- Knowledge of machine vision and safety systems (ISO 13849, SIL-rated devices).
- Certifications:
- UAA/ADDC-approved electrical engineer license.
- NFPA 70E, PMP, or similar.
Working Conditions:
- Location: On-site at an automated warehouse facility in the UAE.
- Shift: Full-time, with occasional on-call support for critical breakdowns.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in industrial environments (heat, noise, confined spaces).
- Lift up to 20kg, climb ladders, and access equipment in high bays.
