Job description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems across residential, commercial, or industrial projects, ensuring adherence to UAE regulations and safety standards. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, site inspections, documentation, and the integration of sustainable and cost-effective solutions. The Electrical Engineer will contribute to project planning, system analysis, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

1. Designing electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and low-current systems in line with project requirements and UAE regulations.
2. Preparing detailed technical drawings, load schedules, and single-line diagrams using CAD or BIM tools.
3. Ensuring compliance with local authority guidelines (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, SEWA) and international electrical codes.
4. Conducting site visits to monitor installation, ensure adherence to specifications, and troubleshoot technical issues.
5. Collaborating with architects, mechanical engineers, and project managers to ensure coordinated system integration.
6. Reviewing and approving contractor/shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
7. Supporting testing and commissioning activities and resolving issues during handover.
8. Assisting in energy efficiency assessments and proposing sustainable electrical solutions.
9. Keeping records of design updates, modifications, and progress reports for project documentation.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
2. 3-5 years of experience in electrical design and supervision, preferably within the UAE construction or infrastructure sector.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, and electrical design software.
4. In-depth knowledge of UAE authority regulations and international electrical standards.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
7. UAE Society of Engineers membership and authority approvals (DEWA, ADDC, etc.) are preferred.
8. Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
