Job Description
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with design and standards.
- Prepare work schedules and ensure timely completion of electrical installations.
- Supervision & Execution
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems (LV/MV systems, lighting, power distribution, earthing, etc.).
- Ensure quality control and compliance with DEWA, ADDC, FEWA, or other local authority regulations.
- Monitor subcontractors and ensure work is carried out as per approved methods and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections and tests (continuity, insulation resistance, load testing, etc.).
- Ensure proper functioning of electrical panels, transformers, generators, and other equipment.
- Prepare test reports and submit them to consultants/clients for approval.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce UAE electrical codes (ESMA, IEC, NEC) and safety regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all workers follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
- Report and resolve any safety violations or hazards on-site.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs, inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
- Track material approvals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and MIRs (Material Inspection Requests).
- Assist in resolving technical issues and variations with the project team.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving
- Identify and resolve electrical faults or design discrepancies.
- Coordinate with design teams for modifications if needed.
- Ensure minimal downtime and efficient problem resolution.
- Handover & Closeout
- Ensure all electrical works are completed as per project specifications.
- Assist in obtaining DEWA/ADDC/FEWA approvals and final certifications.
- Prepare snag lists and ensure timely rectifications before handover.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- UAE experience (preferably in high-rise, infrastructure, or MEP projects).
- Knowledge of ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit MEP (advantageous).
- Familiarity with UAE regulations (DEWA, ADDC, Dubai Civil Defense).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
