Electrical Design Engineer - MEP

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic MEP design team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in the UAE, with a solid track record in designing electrical systems for a wide range of MEP projects, including commercial, residential, hospitality, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare electrical designs and detailed drawings in compliance with local regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, FEWA) and international standards.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analysis, and cable sizing using industry software (e.g., ETAP, Dialux, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
• Design and coordinate electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, ELV, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and grounding systems.
• Review and validate shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes of practice, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Architectural) for seamless integration.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities for approvals and inspections.
• Participate in site inspections, testing & commissioning activities, and resolve technical issues on-site.
• Prepare BOQs, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Provide engineering support during the construction phase and post-construction handover.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of UAE experience in Electrical Design for MEP projects.
• Strong understanding of UAE local authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, etc.).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux/Relux, and calculation tools (ETAP, Amtech, etc.).
• Strong communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• UAE driving license is preferred.
