JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary.

The Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer is responsible for producing and maintaining deliverables such as calculations, datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, bid evaluations, schedules, MTOs, review GADs, detailed drawings, and work volumes, in accordance with industry standards, codes, and client specifications within the schedule and budget set by the Lead Engineer. Significant experience in onshore/offshore oil and gas projects and the ability to work independently are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead, coordinate, mentor, and manage discipline teams on projects as needed.
  • Ensure the safe, effective, and successful implementation of electrical and instrumentation engineering activities within budget and schedule.
  • Assist in developing specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, and material take-offs.
  • Prepare material requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations, and review vendor drawings.
  • Coordinate with respective disciplines for structural design inputs and manage weight control during project stages.
  • Provide input to designers for drawing preparation, lead the design team, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Design solutions that meet functional requirements and client needs, ensuring compatibility with other disciplines.
  • Review and check designs, drawings, and data from external parties or execution teams.
  • Participate in reviews such as 3D Model, Construction, and Design reviews.
  • Review material take-offs and bills of materials, ensuring quantities are within budget, and document changes with approvals.
  • Identify and communicate issues affecting quality, deadlines, or costs to relevant parties.
  • Establish effective communication and relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to complete engineering activities.
  • Support electrical and instrumentation activities on projects and tenders under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
  • Adhere to HSE requirements stipulated by the company and clients.
  • Attend vendor FATs and site visits during construction; suggest design improvements.
  • Maintain quality documentation and report non-compliances for process improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, noting that the list is not exhaustive and may change.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / SKILLS :

  • 10-15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 10 years in a similar EPC role involving analysis, design, and detailing.
  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation, or Electronics Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in software like AUTOCAD and Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ISA, IEC, BS, ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of constructability, operability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Capability to meet fast-track project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Commitment to high-quality standards in all deliverables.
