Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer on behalf of our client in the oil and gas industry, based in Ras Al Khaimah. This role is responsible for the design, selection, and integration of instrumentation and control systems for modular skid packages and E-houses. The ideal candidate will manage project execution from concept through to commissioning, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.


Working Conditions:

  • Office and fabrication yard visits.
  • FAT/SAT or site commissioning.
  • Must adhere to safety procedures during all phases of project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify instrumentation and control systems for skid-mounted packages.
  • Prepare and review instrument datasheets, IO lists, cable schedules, and hook-up drawings.
  • Select appropriate field instruments (e.g., pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors) based on process requirements.
  • Integrate control systems with PLC as per project requirements.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and process teams to ensure system compatibility.
  • Generate loop diagrams, instrument layouts, and P&ID markups.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, ISA, ATEX, and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support to procurement and assist in vendor package reviews.
  • Create documentation packages for client submission, including as-built drawings.
  • Allocate resources including manpower and equipment to various projects to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation engineering, preferably in skid or modular package units.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes (IEC, NEC, ISA).
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, etc.) and engineering software.
  • Familiar with PLC/SCADA integration and basic programming logic (preferred).
  • Good understanding of hazardous area classifications and intrinsic safety.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
