Job Description

The Position

The Spa Director is responsible for establishing and executing short-term and long-term goals to position the spa among the finest resort spas globally. Responsibilities include ensuring colleague and guest satisfaction, financial success, health and safety, and environmental stewardship. The Director leads daily spa operations, manages productivity and expenses, and maximizes revenue aligned with Raffles Spas’ branding.

The Spa at Raffles The Palm Dubai is a 3,000 sqm wellbeing sanctuary offering rejuvenation, including one of the largest indoor pools on the Palm, a hammam, and ozone-controlled air environment, dedicated to luxury, healing, and holistic care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily operations and develop strategic plans for cost-effective, efficient spa services.
  • Set departmental goals and oversee their implementation.
  • Manage, train, and motivate all spa staff.
  • Act as a liaison between the hotel and the spa industry.
  • Engage with group meeting planners and promote spa programs to conference groups.
  • Tour prospective guests and promote hotel and spa packages.
  • Lead marketing initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and coordinate public relations activities.
  • Collaborate with hotel PR, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ offerings and pricing.
  • Oversee staff training on services, retail sales, and guest relations.
  • Supervise all spa departments including salon, front desk, and boutique, ensuring effective communication.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Develop vendor relationships and manage product inventories.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and departmental policies.
  • Prepare reports for management, including business and treatment audits.
  • Participate in recruitment, development, and training of staff and department heads.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings and maintain open communication.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed by all colleagues.
  • Develop and adhere to emergency procedures.
  • Maintain a safety-conscious environment within the spa.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and analyze financial performance.
  • Review payroll, service charges, and invoices.
  • Prepare operational and capital budgets.

COLLEAGUE RELATIONS

  • Maintain positive internal relationships and conduct performance reviews.
  • Develop staffing plans and set goals for team members.
  • Supervise hiring, recognition, and corrective actions.

GUEST SERVICE

  • Maintain the spa’s peak condition and cleanliness.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by prioritizing safety and service quality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is an asset.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in a spa or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences is essential.
