Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

To establish the Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) function at EDB. Develop and implement a framework for Financial Performance Reporting, Cost Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting, whilst taking a "hands-on" approach to managing BAU deliverables.

Provide financial analysis and insights to CFO, CEO, and EXCOM members to support business decisions and overall financial health.

Job Roles and Responsibilities :

Functional Role :

Financial Performance Reporting

• Manage EDB financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Improve or replace financial models used to generate financial performance reports for CFO & Executive Committee
• Continuously improve existing Performance Reporting (Group Financials, Profit Centre Results, Dashboards & Cost Summaries)
• Present and distribute financial information in a best practice manner – graphic, frequent, and timely
• Support financial analysis with insights and recommend strategies to enhance financial performance
• Escalate urgent issues to CFO as required and handle turnaround requests from CEO, CFO, and other EXCOM members regarding Group Financial Performance
• Act as a source of market intelligence through comparative analysis vs peer banks and regional financial institutions

FPA Framework :

• Scope, define, and document Group FPA policy and procedures
• Collaborate with CFO's team on ALM / FTP system implementation to enhance Group Financial Reporting according to best practices
• Enhance Profit Centre reporting aligned with framework principles & policy
• Develop, establish, and implement customer and product-based financials integrated with Group Financial Performance Reporting
• Develop and implement cost accounting MI to better understand cost drivers

Cost Management :

• Serve as the centre of excellence for management and reporting of costs across EDB and subsidiaries
• Work with Financial Accounting team to establish project and capex accounting reporting and analysis, including controls to ensure accuracy
• Provide recommendations to CFO and EXCOM on effective and sustainable cost management strategies

Governance and Oversight :

• Be the key contact for Group’s Financial Performance Reports distributed to CFO and EXCOM, explaining financial outcomes
• Support Board Committees with review and preparation of financial reports and analyses
• Become an expert on Group Policy and Procedures related to Financial Reporting and propose improvements for efficiency and effectiveness

Finance Role Model :

• Provide guidance and mentorship to Finance colleagues
• Promote best practice financial modelling skills within the team
