Job Description
To estimate a timescale for a project and to ensure that the outlined deadlines are met. Work closely with project managers, construction manager and other engineers to ensure a project runs on schedule and that material supplies and deliveries are sufficient as per project requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
● Prepare Project Baseline Plans using Primavera, along with all necessary project planning requirements, including construction programs, OBS-to-WBS mapping, scheduling, resource loading, and resource leveling.
● Collaborate with the Sr. Planning Engineer to develop and maintain KPI reports, S-Curves, and Histograms, while assisting in the analysis of SPI and CPI.
● Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports in coordination with the Sr. Planning Engineer, including work front availability, look-ahead schedules, and comparative analysis of actual progress against the baseline schedule.
● Work closely with project managers, construction managers, and other engineers to ensure project timelines are met, and material supply and deliveries align with project requirements.
● Conduct regular site visits to verify on-ground progress, ensuring compliance with approved schedules. Identify deviations, assess time impact, and monitor corrective actions.
● Track project activities against contract scope of work, validate actual work progress with the site team, and report updates to the Sr. Planning Engineer.
● Prepare Direct & Indirect Manpower and Equipment Histograms as per project requirements.
● Assist the Planning and QS team in preparing monthly cost estimates.
● Communicate program requirements effectively to project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
● Inspect construction sites daily to confirm progress aligns with the baseline program.
● Identify and report critical or potentially impactful activities, prepare Critical Items Action Reports, and maintain updated logs for senior management.
● Support the Sr. Planning Engineer in resource allocation and provide regular status reports to senior management.
● Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure on-time and budget-friendly project completion. ● Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the overall project timeline.
● Document project delays and assist the Sr. Planning Engineer in preparing Extension of Time (EOT) claims and variation reports.
Desired Candidate Profile
● Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
● 3 - 5 years’ experience in the domain of project management, project control, planning, and estimation, budgeting and cost control.
● Industry Certifications in Project Management preferred
● Excellent knowledge in planning/cost control techniques, methods, systems, standards and software.
