About The Job

Supervise, ensure availability of telecom services, and provide technical expertise in telecommunication engineering. Plan, coordinate, direct, and manage the execution of jobs related to Plant Telecommunication systems to ensure asset availability and reliability, minimizing downtime.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Provide technical advice and guidance in routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance of Plant telecommunication systems to support plant operations and enhance HSE policies.
  2. Carry out specialized or complex repairs and maintenance of telecommunication systems.
  3. Plan and prepare maintenance programs, oversee their implementation, examine equipment performance, and implement cost control programs with safety and efficiency in mind.
  4. Maintain plant Telecommunication equipment in line with HSECES guidelines and ensure compliance with MAT requirements.
  5. Develop conceptual studies and statements of requirements for new projects, ensuring standardization and compatibility in design and engineering phases.
  6. Review and endorse engineering designs prepared by service providers, vendors, and contractors for Telecom, Radio, Public Address, CCTV, structured cabling, and access systems.
  7. Identify, evaluate, select, and test new telecom and network technologies to meet current and future business needs, ensuring the application of state-of-the-art technology.
  8. Maintain network systems, wireless networks, LAN configurations, VoIP, broadcast systems, and security systems, including access control and anti-intrusion systems.
  9. Monitor and coordinate installations during construction, witness factory and site acceptance tests, and oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Develop and execute minor upgrade projects, ensuring compliance and applying cost-effective solutions.
  10. Act as the division's focal point to review and comment on telecom activities performed by projects, consultants, and contractors.
  11. Participate in planning and executing telecommunication and surveillance modifications, expansions, or new installations, including cost estimation and user requirements review.
  12. Coordinate with TRA for radio interference issues and licensing for new radio equipment.
  13. Participate in site maintenance activities and major repairs with PTT staff.
  14. Execute jobs with PTT network personnel and assist in fault analysis and testing to restore network operations.
  15. Coordinate with telecom providers like Etisalat and Du for network issues and rectification.
  16. Investigate, analyze, and recommend corrective actions for network failures.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience & Skills:

  • At least 6 years of experience managing Telecom Engineering services, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Telecommunications.
  • Experience guiding technicians in testing and troubleshooting Telecom, CCTV, PAGA, and access systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Technology, network hardware, internet standards, and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, Wireless LAN, WWAN, and complex network systems.
  • Experience using MAXIMO and SAP for work planning and analysis.
  • Proven supervisory skills over subordinates and contractors.
  • Strong planning, organizing, scheduling, and coordinating abilities.
