Review Material Submittals, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements related to civil / Mechanical / Electrical works to ensure compliance with project requirements and provide feedback to Works Agency QA/QC Manager
Civil Inspection Activities
Conduct inspections at various stages of construction to verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and standards in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
• Verify that the construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
• Inspect and verify the quality of materials, including soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials used in roads, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Monitor construction activities, including but not limited to:
o Earthworks (cutting, filling, compaction, etc.)
o Asphalt paving and concrete works.
o Installation of drainage pipes, culverts, and manholes
o Retaining walls, bridges, Tunnels, Dams and related structures
• Participate in final inspections to confirm that all work meets the required quality standards before the handover phase.
Mechanical Inspection Activities
• Inspect all mechanical installations, including piping, structural supports, and mechanical equipment, to ensure adherence to design specifications and drawings.
• Verify proper alignment, leveling, and positioning of equipment such as pumps, and associated installations.
• Ensure proper installation of piping systems, including welding, flange connections, and fittings, following isometric drawings.
• Monitor welding activities, including verification of welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding consumables.
• Inspect weld quality using methods such as visual inspection, dimensional checks, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
• Ensure mechanical works comply with safety standards and regulations.
Oversee field tests such as: o Hydrostatic testing of piping systems. o Pneumatic testing for pressure integrity.
o Equipment performance tests (e.g., pumps, compressors).
• Witness and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for mechanical equipment, such as:
o Witnessing SAT/FAT etc., as and when required by the Employer.
o Functionality tests of rotating equipment (e.g., pumps).
o Calibration of safety devices, valves, and gauges.
• Ensure systems operate as designed and meet project handover requirements
Electrical Inspection Activities
• Inspect installation of all electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and control systems etc.,
• Verify proper cable routing, labeling, and termination as per drawings and specifications.
• Check that all conduits, trays, and supports meet design and safety requirements.
• Ensure adherence to electrical safety codes and standards during installation (e.g., proper grounding, protection devices, arc flash protection).
• Monitor implementation of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures during electrical work.
• Oversee tests such as:
o Insulation resistance testing.
o Earth resistance testing.
o High-Pot (High Potential) testing.
o Circuit continuity testing.
• Verify compliance of electrical panels, switches, and breakers with technical specifications.
• Witness and verify the following commissioning activities:
o Witnessing SAT/FAT etc., as and when required by the Employer. o Functional testing of electrical equipment (e.g., motors, pumps, transformers).
o Calibration of relays, meters, and other devices.
o System energization and load testing.
