As a Principal Solution Architect, you will design, develop, and govern the solution architecture of the Group in alignment with corporate business and IT strategies, ensuring a balance between functional, service quality, systems management requirements, and business objectives. This role involves engagement at the strategic enterprise level and taking full responsibility for the solution architectures of individual projects and programmes.

In this role, you will:

1. Lead the definition and governance of new corporate and portfolio IT standards, guidelines, and practices by analyzing potential impacts of emerging technologies, assessing their strategic significance, defining their roles and scope, and reviewing our IT estate periodically.
2. Scout market trends and track technological advancements and business innovations, determining their relevance to our IT strategy, standards, and platforms, leading efforts to update existing assets or create new ones, and showcasing business value through Proof of Concepts with relevant IT teams.
3. Lead solution architecture development for new initiatives, vendor solutions, and system enhancements, ensuring quality, integration, and alignment with agile architecture practices. Drive architecture decisions considering costs, schedules, complexity, technical debt, and performance.
4. Provide expert advice and lead solution design reviews, guiding projects on standards, exception requests, and appropriate use of architectural patterns.
5. Provide architecture and technology leadership to development teams, acting as the lead architect in Agile teams or Release Trains, and coordinating with peer architects and engineering teams.
6. Manage, inspire, and coach Solutions Architects and Senior Engineers, and lead a wider virtual team of managers, experts, and business stakeholders.
7. Own and maintain the architecture roadmap for large projects, acting as a product owner to identify and prioritize technical enablers, address technical debt, and oversee modernization activities.
