Job description

Commercial Manager

Dubai

Overview:

An experienced Commercial Manager is required to take ownership of contractual and commercial responsibilities on high-value construction projects in the Middle East. This role will support project teams on-site, ensuring financial efficiency and contractual compliance throughout all phases of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the contractual and commercial performance of live construction projects.
  • Provide strategic input to reduce financial exposure, maximise cost recovery, and manage claims.
  • Administer all aspects of FIDIC-based contracts, including risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Review and support the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and loss & expense submissions.
  • Engage with P6 project schedules to substantiate claims and progress.
  • Assist in resolving disputes and claims, including involvement in arbitration processes where required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of commercial/contractual experience, ideally with major contractors.
  • Proven expertise in FIDIC contracts and their application in the GCC region.
  • Strong knowledge of contractual risk assessment and dispute avoidance.
  • Hands-on experience with EOT claims, cost control, and claims resolution.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Primavera P6 programmes.
  • Familiarity with arbitration and dispute resolution procedures.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience on high-rise buildings, civil infrastructure, or villa developments in the Middle East (UAE preferred).
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or a related field.
  • Projects exposure valued at AED 750 million+.
  • Previous experience across multiple live project sites.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
