Project Director - Sour Gas Treatment Plant

Work Location: Dubai, UAE office based + then moving with the project to Kurdistan, Northern Iraq when project reaches construction phase.

Estimated Remuneration: $17 - 20K USD per month + Medical Insurance + Annual Flights + Visa. When in Kurdistan, your accommodation, utilities, transportation, food, laundry shall be provided by the Company (and it will not be site living).

Role Scope

A high-calibre Project Director to lead the full life cycle execution of a sour gas treatment plant located in Sulaymaniyah, Northern Iraq.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and project delivery experience, with a proven track record managing large-scale gas projects - especially those involving H₂S-rich sour gas.

You will oversee all technical, commercial, and strategic aspects of the project, acting as the primary point of accountability.

Technical Profile

• 20+ years of experience in Oil & Gas project execution, with at least 10 years in sour gas processing.
• Proven track record leading gas processing projects in the MENA region valued around USD $200m and above.
• Deep technical understanding of:
  • Amine sweetening systems
  • Sulfur Recovery Units (Claus + TGTU)
  • Acid gas compression/disposal
  • Gas dehydration and NGL recovery
• Strong command of project controls, cost management, procurement strategy, and contract execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Process); Master's degree is an added value.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to be based in Sulaymaniyah, Northern Iraq, with frequent visits to the site during construction phase.
• During the engineering stage, you may need to visit Sulaymaniyah to meet with vendors and EPC contractors.
