About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at a leading engineering consultancy firm. This role will be based on-site, where you will oversee the civil engineering aspects of large-scale construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery within budget, time, and quality parameters. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering, with a strong background in site management, design coordination, and project execution. Experience in healthcare projects is a plus.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in managing site activities, supervising civil works, and liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless integration of civil systems into overall project delivery. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering activities on-site, ensuring compliance with design, specifications, and construction standards.
• Coordinate the implementation of civil works, including excavation, foundations, drainage systems, roads, pavements, and other infrastructure elements.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical oversight for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
• Review civil engineering designs and shop drawings for accuracy and feasibility, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers) to ensure integration and smooth workflow between all project aspects.
• Oversee the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding site progress, issues, and resource management.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper site management, including the maintenance of accurate records and project documentation.
• Review and approve method statements and risk assessments for civil works.
• Liaise with the client, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any technical issues and ensure project milestones are met.
• Ensure the project adheres to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Assist in procurement and material management to ensure timely delivery of materials for construction.
• Contribute to the planning and scheduling of construction activities, ensuring effective time management and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 15+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior site-based role.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
• Healthcare project experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of local and international building codes, civil engineering standards, and construction practices.
• Proven experience in reviewing and coordinating civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Expertise in managing subcontractors, site resources, and construction schedules.
• Proficient in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex engineering and site-related challenges.
• In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in construction and civil engineering.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts or other standard construction contract forms is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Membership in a professional engineering organization is preferred.
