Job description

We are a travel company and tour guide with strong partnerships with various tour operators, airlines, and hotels to ensure you receive the finest care throughout your trip in Dubai Al Maktoum Street, Port Saeed - Deira - Dubai. Nearest Metro Station: City Centre Deira Metro Station.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and maintaining compliance with local accounting standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with 1-3 years of relevant experience in the Travel & Tourism industry. They will be responsible for processing supplier invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and resolving discrepancies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Recording day-to-day transactions in the accounting system.
  2. Ensuring financial statements are prepared accurately.
  3. Suggesting changes in accounting processes where required.
  4. Preparing monthly variance reports based on actual and budgeted P&L for each business unit.
  5. Participating in the preparation of accounts payable reports (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) for effective management decision-making.
  6. Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, maintaining vendor records.
  7. Processing journal entries to the general ledger.
  8. Reconciling bank and credit card accounts weekly.
  9. Working with the manager in forecasting income and expenses.
  10. Preparing monthly payroll and submitting it to management on time.
  11. Drafting monthly management reports as required.
  12. Setting up and maintaining a company asset and supplier register.
  13. Streamlining processes and automating tasks.
  14. Preparing reports for presentation to directors and stakeholders.
  15. Providing effective credit control.
  16. Developing strong relationships with key customers and ensuring accurate invoicing.
  17. Performing other tasks as assigned.

Preparing and filing VAT returns as per UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations, ensuring compliance with UAE corporate tax laws, maintaining accurate tax records and financial statements, conducting tax audits, reconciling tax liabilities, advising on tax-saving strategies, liaising with FTA and external auditors, and staying updated on UAE tax regulations.

Using accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the travel industry.
  • Experience in preparing and filing VAT returns accurately and timely.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with tax audits and compliance reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax laws.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Customer-oriented with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
