Role Overview

An exciting new role has opened within our Business Unit - Gas in the APAC region. The Technical Supervisor, APAC & MEI, is an integral role that will assist in controlling and managing M&R and technical activities in the APAC and Middle East, India region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support for M&R and Depot Activities: in South & South East Asia & East Asia, including coordination with the Regional M&R Manager and Global Technical Supervisor Gas for repairs, re-tests, and maintenance of gas tank containers.
2. Quality and Compliance: checking third-party depot repair estimates, controlling depot capabilities, turnaround times, and following up on repair quality based on SLAs.
3. Administration: managing records in our TMS system concerning gas tanks.
4. Emergency Response: acting in an emergency response role for Gas tank containers.
5. Operational Support: assisting with trans-shipment, damage surveys, tank modifications, and supporting tank cleaning and SHEQ activities.
6. Audits and Spot Checks: supporting audit programs and delivering spot checks with approved suppliers.
7. Cost Control: verifying additional cleaning costs and reviewing cleaning procedures for challenging products.
8. Business Development Support: providing technical support to Gas Business Development and commercial teams, managing tank modifications, and installing equipment at customer sites.
9. Training: training customer operational staff per Den Hartogh procedures.

Essential Job Requirements

1. Minimum tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (advantageous).
2. At least 5 years' experience in gas tank container maintenance.
3. Good understanding of dangerous goods transport regulations, including IMDG.
4. Experience in sourcing, supplier control, assessment, and auditing is a plus.
5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a strong team player.
6. Willingness to travel internationally as required.
7. Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
