The Project Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and successful delivery of a super high-rise construction project in the UAE. This senior role involves overseeing all phases of the project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, while ensuring alignment with the client's vision, budget, timeline, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the project from inception to completion, ensuring the project's objectives, including quality, scope, budget, and timelines, are met.
- Define the project vision, goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure alignment with the client’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project management plan outlining key deliverables, milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Develop detailed project plans that define clear objectives, tasks, and milestones for each phase of construction.
- Collaborate with the Planning Manager to ensure that the project schedule is aligned with overall project goals and that all deadlines are met.
- Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring all costs are accounted for and that the project is delivered within financial parameters.
- Approve cost variations, change orders, and invoices, ensuring that any deviations from the budget are documented and justified.
- Oversee the contract negotiation and procurement process, ensuring all contracts are clear, fair, and in line with the project’s scope and budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client and ensure that their expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
- Ensure the implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across all phases of the project.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive project reporting, including progress reports, budgets, schedule updates, and risk management logs.
Technical Skills :
- Expertise in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, scheduling techniques, and contract law.
- Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and risk management strategies.
- In-depth understanding of local construction codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Education & Qualification :
- 20+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 10+ years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale, high-rise construction projects.
- Proven experience in overseeing complex super high-rise construction projects (e.g., skyscrapers, mega developments, mixed-use buildings).
- Strong background in managing multi-million-dollar budgets, multiple stakeholders, and large project teams.
- Previous experience working in the UAE construction market or other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Project Management, Construction Engineering, or an MBA is highly desirable.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is required.
