Job description

To provide professional service to customers by accurately recording and organizing quality repair and maintenance services, thereby enhancing customer retention and after-sales revenue. Offer professional advice to customers on current and future maintenance needs.

Functional Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Greet customers, discuss servicing and repair needs, and guide them on assessment and repair of problems or faults based on manufacturer recommendations. Record requirements correctly on the job card to avoid ambiguity affecting repair quality.
  2. Explain to customers the contents of the job, its value, and associated costs. Obtain confirmation and prepare clear, unambiguous work instructions for technicians. Maintain communication to ensure proper progress of work.
  3. Organize inspections upon job completion to ensure quality standards are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
  4. Deliver vehicles courteously after job completion, ensuring customer and workshop authorities' satisfaction to promote business continuity.
  5. Build and maintain profitable relationships by proactively communicating with existing and prospective customers about their vehicle performance and potential service needs to strengthen and expand the customer base.
  6. Keep customers informed about the status of back-ordered parts, their expected arrival times, and demonstrate genuine interest in resolving their issues to retain their confidence.
  7. Periodically update customers on work progress and deliver vehicles after collection. Upsell new accessories, service packages, additional services, and actively participate in service campaigns.
  8. Upgrade product knowledge through web-based and classroom training.
  9. Establish cordial relations with customers and workshop staff.
  10. Follow up on Work In Progress (WIP), targeting closure within 30 days.
  11. Follow up with customers on long-pending vehicle deliveries.

Job Requirements

Education / Certification and Continued Education

  • Diploma in Automobile Engineering or equivalent graduate qualification.

Years of Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in the automotive trade.
