Typically, a small number of individuals within the business provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are necessary to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas and occasional external clients. This role is accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business and involves responsibility over technical strategy. It primarily affects a sub-function and includes staff management responsibilities, such as resource management and work allocation within the team.

Private Bank at Citi (CPB), part of the Institutional Clients Group, offers a wide range of products and solutions, including investment strategies, banking and lending, trust, and specialized private banking services. It serves over 10,000 ultra-high net worth clients worldwide, focusing on clients with a minimum net worth of $25 million, including 40% of the world’s billionaires and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish, grow, and manage investment relationships with ultra-high net worth clients, providing advice on markets and actionable investment ideas. Demonstrate credibility to cultivate trusting relationships and attract new clients and investment opportunities.
  • Function as the primary client contact and trusted investment advisor, including direct selling, determining suitability, identifying product opportunities, portfolio advice, and post-sale execution in partnership with the Banker team.
  • Leverage existing relationships, local networks, and investment experience to introduce new clients to Citi Private Bank.
  • Build and manage a practice focused on deepening client relationships through appropriate investment advice and solutions.
  • Combine knowledge of traditional and alternative investments with wealth planning and private banking services to enhance client service and cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Work across currencies, asset classes, markets, and jurisdictions.
  • Advise clients on brokerage activities and execute trades seamlessly.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities within other areas of the bank, such as lending, trust, and institutional solutions.
  • Partner with Bankers to prospect for new investment business.
  • Assess risks appropriately, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding Citigroup’s reputation, and managing control issues transparently.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in investment advising and solutions.
  • Robust experience in providing investment advice and solutions.
  • FA, MBA, or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Ability to make complex judgments and develop solutions based on sophisticated analysis and interpretive thinking.
  • For US candidates: S7, S63 (or S66), and S3 exams; SIE is a prerequisite for the S7.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
