Qualifications

• High School Certificate plus certification from an Allied Health program of not less than 1 year.
• Qualification in a related allied health profession plus on the job training by an EEG supervisor or Neurophysiologist.

Responsabilités

• Explain the test procedure to obtain patient cooperation.
• Measure and apply electrodes according to the 10-20 system and ensure impedance meets standards.
• Perform routine, sleep, and bedside EEG records.
• Conduct long-term video monitoring EEG in the epilepsy monitoring unit.
• Adjust controls of the machine to obtain optimal recording.
• Describe and annotate all manifestations and changes observed during tests.
• Recognize artifacts and take steps to eliminate or document them.
• Gather comprehensive patient history from all sources.
• Write comprehensive EEG and EMU summary descriptions.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for the room and rotate stock.
• Participate in technical conferences and meetings.
