Job description

Job Purpose:

The SVP of Sales will lead and manage the sales function across all retail banking branches and distribution channels. This pivotal role focuses on driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets for all retail products and customer segments, and enhancing both customer acquisition and retention. The SVP will oversee sales operations across all channels, providing strategic direction and leadership to meet organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Retail Sales Strategy and Business Scope:
    1. Develop and implement the retail sales strategy aligned with the bank’s objectives, ensuring sales performance meets KPIs through effective leadership of the branch network and sales team.
    2. Lead and manage branch-based and relationship manager teams to achieve sales targets across customer segments and retail products.
    3. Drive sales initiatives to expand market share, focusing on customer acquisition, portfolio growth, cross-sell, and upsell.
  2. Team Leadership:
    1. Manage 8 direct reports including sales managers and regional heads, leading approximately 68 employees.
    2. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and provide coaching and development.
  3. Portfolio Growth Targets:
    1. Aim for 20% annual portfolio growth over 5 years, expanding market share and customer engagement.
    2. Collaborate with product, marketing, digital, and analytics teams to develop revenue-boosting campaigns.
    3. Monitor sales pipelines, conversion rates, and revenue metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
    4. Set and monitor sales KPIs, ensuring targets are met and compliance maintained.
    5. Enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through engagement initiatives.
    6. Assess market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine strategies.
    7. Contribute to budget planning and control sales-related expenses for profitability.
  4. Business Scope:
    1. Achieve annual sales revenue targets across product lines: Assets AED 250 Mn, Liabilities AED 550 Mn, Bancassurance AED 20 Mn, Wealth Management AED 40 Mn.
    2. Manage current portfolio sizes: Assets AED 1.26 Bn, Liabilities AED 4 Bn.
    3. Oversee sales activities across 6 branches to ensure growth and profitability, accountable for a P&L target of AED 250 million.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

10-12 years in Retail Banking, with at least 5 years in senior sales leadership.
