Restaurant Manager – Chinese Restaurant

Location: Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat al Beri, Abu Dhabi

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our signature Chinese restaurant. Set within a hotel that fuses Arabian hospitality with world-class luxury, this role calls for a dynamic leader who can deliver an exceptional dining experience rooted in the rich traditions of Chinese cuisine. The ideal candidate will inspire the team and uphold the outstanding service standards that define the Shangri-La experience.

What are we looking for?
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager in a high-end Chinese restaurant or luxury hotel.
  • In-depth knowledge of Chinese cuisine, dining etiquette, and service styles (including Cantonese, Sichuan, and regional specialties).
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong guest engagement and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin or Cantonese.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations software.
  • Attention to detail and a warm, friendly character.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What will you do?
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a multicultural team to deliver 5-star standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement authentic Chinese menus.
  • Manage budgets, costs, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Implement marketing strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards.
  • Implement service standards through proper training and supervision.
  • Schedule staff to ensure efficient service and productivity.
  • Motivate and develop staff to maximize efficiency and confidence.
  • Address guest complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Engage with guests to gauge satisfaction.

About the Hotel: The hotel features 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites, 6 villas with private pools, and 161 fully-furnished serviced apartments. Located within the Qaryat Al Beri complex, it offers a private beach, shopping options, and is conveniently close to key city attractions.
