Role purpose:
Lead meetings with potential clients and increase awareness of Abu Dhabi as a major conferences and exhibitions destination. Position Abu Dhabi as the premier destination for target market conferences by leveraging its unique and authentic tourism offerings.
Key responsibilities:
Annual Planning
- Contribute to the development of the department's annual business plan, ensuring alignment with the needs and strategic goals of the Business Development & Sales activities.
Business Development & Sales Operations
- Lead efforts to attract conferences and exhibitions by submitting bids and proposals, managing the end-to-end bidding process, and developing creative and timely proposals.
- Coordinate feasibility studies with other units within DCT to support bid opportunities.
- Foster relationships with government and key stakeholders, working closely with international offices and ambassadors.
- Identify potential exhibition IPs, trade associations, and PEOs/PCOs aligned with Abu Dhabi’s value proposition.
- Collaborate with MICE associations to increase awareness and identify leads.
- Engage with C & E-initiators & intermediaries, such as PEOs and PCOs, to assess interest and opportunities.
- Coordinate with MICE officers in international markets for relationship management.
- Work with hotels and event organizers to create attractive packages and manage special programs.
Conferences & Exhibitions Operations
- Leverage data and CRM to analyze segments, monitor benchmarks, and influence decision-makers.
- Organize site inspections and support market feasibility studies.
- Assess support means for the MICE ecosystem, including virtual trends.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote events and draft related communications.
Shared Activities
- Ensure strategy cascading and alignment across sections.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and sustainability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Manage policies and procedures to ensure compliance and quality service.
- Demonstrate organizational values and ethics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in marketing, sales, or related roles.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; Arabic bilingual preferred.
- Skilled in MS Office; website design and content development experience advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of markets, analytics, and testing.
- Innovative marketing approach, excellent time management, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
- Knowledge of rebates schemes and business planning experience.
