Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join its UAE Business Unit. The role involves having single-point responsibility for all electrical engineering deliverables for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Dubai, UAE.

This is a full-time, office-based role in Dubai, with possible trips to Iraq if required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the electrical engineering and design teams on the contract, ensuring competency and quality standards are met.
  • Take single-point responsibility for all electrical engineering deliverables, conforming to applicable codes, standards, and client policies.
  • Manage project budgets and resources related to electrical engineering and design.
  • Ensure compliance with technical and financial change management processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, address queries, and participate in safety and design reviews.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines during all project phases.
  • Support site activities including material inspections and Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Identify and address progress or quality concerns, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Attend progress meetings and generate status reports.
  • Promote safety, continuous improvement, and lessons learned sharing within the team.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 18+ years experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical system design, analysis, and international standards.
  • Experience with electrical system design software such as Smartplant.
  • Participation in HAZID, HAZOP, and IPF/SIL studies.
  • Experience with Concept Selection and FEED studies.
