Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and other financial regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze costs, identifying areas for improvement or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations and stay updated on changes to tax laws that might impact the organization.
  • Evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Certification: CPA or CA is mandatory
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in the UAE, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics.
