The Director of Social Media & Digital Publishing will lead the development and execution of social media strategies and digital publishing initiatives for a leading PR company. This role is responsible for overseeing content creation, audience engagement, and the optimization of digital products such as online publications, multimedia content, and interactive storytelling formats. The ideal candidate will be a digital-savvy leader with expertise in social media trends, digital content strategy, and publishing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  2. Oversee content creation for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, etc.) ensuring alignment with PR and brand objectives.
  3. Manage the production of high-quality multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and interactive posts.
  4. Implement social listening tools to track trends, monitor conversations, and optimize content based on insights.
  5. Develop and enforce editorial guidelines to maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity.
Digital Publishing & Content Platforms
  1. Lead the digital publishing strategy, overseeing the development and distribution of digital magazines, newsletters, blogs, and thought leadership content.
  2. Collaborate with editorial teams to transform PR materials into engaging digital storytelling experiences.
  3. Optimize content for SEO and audience engagement, leveraging analytics to inform editorial decisions.
  4. Explore and implement new publishing formats, including interactive reports, e-books, podcasts, and AI-powered content.
Audience Growth & Community Engagement
  1. Develop growth strategies to expand the reach of social media and digital publishing channels.
  2. Oversee community management, ensuring proactive engagement with followers, industry influencers, and stakeholders.
  3. Leverage data-driven insights to refine content strategies, improve engagement, and drive conversions.
  4. Partner with PR and marketing teams to amplify brand messaging, campaigns, and thought leadership content.
Technology & Innovation in Digital Media
  1. Stay ahead of emerging trends in digital publishing, social media algorithms, and audience behavior.
  2. Oversee the adoption of AI-driven content tools, social media automation, and digital publishing platforms.
  3. Optimize content distribution through programmatic advertising, influencer collaborations, and cross-platform integrations.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  1. Lead and mentor a team of content creators, social media managers, and digital strategists.
  2. Work closely with PR, communications, and editorial teams to align digital initiatives with business objectives.
  3. Manage relationships with external agencies, influencers, and media partners to expand digital reach.
  4. Develop and manage the budget for digital content production, advertising, and technology investments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in social media management, digital publishing, or content strategy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in social media strategy, content marketing, and digital publishing platforms.
  • Experience in managing multimedia content production, including video, podcasting, and interactive storytelling.
  • Familiarity with SEO, social media analytics, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Proficiency in design and video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize content strategies based on data insights.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in PR, media relations, or corporate communications.
  • Knowledge of AI-driven content tools, social commerce, and influencer marketing strategies.
