Job Description

An African-based Conglomerate Group is seeking an experienced candidate for the role of Head of Department (HOD) – Hedgingfor our Group. The Group is a metal conglomerate having operations in Central Africa and other parts of Africa.

Requirements & Skills

Educational Qualification: MBA (Finance)/ CFA /CA

Experience: Minimum of 10- 12 years of experience in Hedging. Having exposure in big metal Corporate House.

Location: Dubai

· Develop and lead the company’s hedging strategy to manage financial exposure to FX, commodities, and interest rate risks.

· Analyse market trends, macroeconomic indicators, and exposure reports to make informed hedging decisions.

· Work closely with finance, treasury, procurement, sales, and operations teams to understand risk exposures.

· Execute or oversee derivative transactions (forwards, options, swaps, call options, future etc.) in line with company policies.

· Monitor hedge effectiveness and report performance to senior management and the board.

· Establish robust controls and processes around risk identification, measurement, and mitigation.

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., IFRS 9 hedge accounting, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).

· Build and manage relationships with banks, brokers, and other financial institutions.

· Mentor and lead a team of analysts and managers in the hedging department.

· Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

· Connect with Customers to communicate and manage delivery contract, agree pricing for current month deliveries & get confirmations for forward months' pricing in relation to LME.

· Having experience and knowledge in developing SOP and Hedging Policies.

Languages: Proficiency in Englishis required.
