Job Description
- Prepare monthly VAT returns with supporting documents.
- Ensure accuracy in VAT calculations.
- Check P&L reconciliation for VAT payable and ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile VAT across systems and coordinate with IT for discrepancies.
- Verify PDF tax invoices and credit notes monthly for corporate and retail clients.
- Calculate Input VAT and convert based on Central Bank rates.
- Perform control checks for Input VAT to ensure compliance.
- Ensure adherence to VAT laws and regulations.
- Recommend automation for VAT processes and participate in transformation initiatives.
- Complete VAT activities within internal and regulatory deadlines.
- Verify manual tax invoices and ensure proper approval processes.
- Prepare process notes and documentation related to VAT.
- Handle other tax returns such as ESR, CbCR, TRC, and related obligations.
- Review documents to advise on potential tax impacts.
- Manage all VAT-related activities, including invoicing and return calculations.
- Perform calculations related to Input and Output VAT.
- Review reports and calculations concerning Input VAT.
- Address VAT queries from business units and handle customer complaints.
- Ensure VAT compliance across activities.
- Prepare documentation for VAT filings and other tax obligations.
- Liaise with auditors and provide explanations/supporting documents.
- Interpret VAT and other tax laws to advise on transactions.
- Provide system and non-system solutions to ensure VAT compliance.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT law and regulations.
- 3-5 years of experience in a large business (turnover 500m+).
- Knowledge of banking systems and products is a plus.
- Understanding of tax regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of Power BI and automation tools is advantageous.
