About the role

The Head of Technical is a new position created to support the continued growth of our brands and products around the world. The role will be part of the Senior Management Team and be primarily responsible for ensuring our products meet the performance and compliance standards required in our markets. They will oversee the Technical Support Team who provide field technical support to rectify customer issues across each of our sales divisions and provide training and troubleshooting issues during sales and post-installation phases. The reports include Technical Services Manager Bathrooms: Ensures technical feasibility and product integration across bathrooms. Installation Manager Outdoor living and Appliances covering kitchens such as fridges, hobs, cookers, dishwashers, Tile and Slab specialist, technical support, a team of 16 including 11 technical support site technicians with Electricians and Plumbers, and Certification team.

The Head of Technical manages the technical expertise across the product portfolio as the in-house expert and ensures technical alignment, product performance, product compliance in line with the company objectives for our brands and products. They will work collaboratively with our Category Management, Purchasing, Quality Assurance and Testing teams as well as working closely with Sales, New Product Development and Projects to ensure new products meet the standards of major international manufacturers along with a full complement of supporting technical documentation and information which customers may require. They will proactively help identify potential customer issues ensuring technical expertise enhances the overall customer experience, be prepared to give training or installation advice as well as providing guidance on the relevant spare parts to hold in stock. Ensure all products meet industry standards and safety regulations.

By combining technical proficiency with leadership and customer service, the Head of Technical plays a vital role in ensuring product success. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the production processes and technical standards underpinning our products and the ability to manage a diverse team covering multi-disciplinary roles and technical disciplines.

Sanipex Group offers a comprehensive portfolio of Bathrooms, Tiles, Outdoor Furniture, Kitchen Appliances and Lighting products. The Head of Technical will support each of our product categories, however the core focus and technical experience should be within the bathroom sector.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead all aspects of the technical function to ensure our products meet the required performance and compliance standards for our markets.
  2. Oversee the Technical Support Team to ensure customer issues are resolved promptly and any technical reports or follow actions required are handled professionally.
  3. Provide guidance to the technical team in assessing product warranty claims by carefully evaluating the evidence, whilst maintaining a commercial perspective on how best to proceed.
  4. Review our existing technical support information such as installation guides, drawings, spare parts lists and site visit reports; making recommendation for improvement where needed to ensure they are equivalent to other major, international brands in our sector.
  5. Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance and Category Management teams to highlight any Technical or Quality deviations in our products (based on customer feedback or internal QC checks) which need corrective action in the factories or wider commercial evaluation.
  6. Be an expert in the testing standards and certification requirements of our products and the supporting information required to maintain approvals in each of our markets e.g. SASO, EMSA, EQM, WRAS, G-Mark. Be aware of potential new markets we may enter and their requirements for product entry and work with the category teams to ensure new products mee the regulatory requirements.
  7. Develop our Technical reporting capabilities to have real time information about technical cases both at a product and customer level which can act as an early warning system for potential issues we may need to address.
  8. Maintain a commercially minded approach when evaluating technical issues and making recommendations for action. Help ensure that customer issues always reach a complete resolution and work with the wider teams where relevant to take preventative action based on any learnings.
  9. Contribute Technical input during our product development procedures to help launch new products with a complete package of technical support information and solutions to foreseeable problems. Make recommendations about suitable warranty periods and conditions for our products.
  10. Installation services and management of the team with ‘white glove’ service approach.

About you

You will have an excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and product technical requirements, ideally within the bathroom sector. Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field. A background in, or strong knowledge of, plumbing, electrical, and MEP systems will be a distinct advantage. You will be highly organised, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while demonstrating strong leadership skills and experience managing diverse, multidisciplinary technical teams. Your ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation will be key, as will your confidence in supporting both customers and sales teams to resolve technical issues. You will have exceptional communication, presentation, and report writing skills, combined with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a drive to identify and resolve root causes rather than symptoms. You will bring strategic insight, hands-on technical expertise, and the ambition to grow further in a leadership role.
