Job Summary

Provides consultation to Mechanical Engineering, E&I Engineering, Process Engineering, and other functional areas to ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with prescribed objectives, procedures, and budget/schedule constraints. Leads and manages engineering projects from conception to completion. Develops detailed project engineering plans, including scope and schedule. Maintains relationships with project, engineering, controls, procurement, construction, and QA/QC department managers, as well as external stakeholders such as engineering subcontractors and customers. Manages resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering matters with the client and subcontractors.
• Establish design engineering procedures.
• Participate in weekly project meetings with the client.
• Review and approve engineering documents, i.e., drawings, specifications, and requisitions.
• Plan and direct the receiving, distribution, and filing of drawings and specifications through the Document Controller.
• Report change/supplemental work related to engineering to the Control Group and prepare descriptions of change proposals.
• Work proactively to continuously improve the company and its operations through LL initiatives.
• Attend design, drawing, and model review sessions.
• Conduct budget analysis, resource deployment, and resource management.
• Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Develop tasks related to procurement support, documentation, and reporting.
• Train and transfer knowledge to less experienced engineering personnel.
• Coordinate Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for specific projects.
• Analyze comments received from clients and advise the project team on potential scope variations or extra-contractual requirements.
• Serve as the technical point of contact during project execution.
• Maintain constant contact with Procurement during critical order assignments.

Reporting and Communication

• Report to the Engineering Director.
• Report any non-compliance with HSEQ requirements.
• Interact with Project Managers regarding technical and project challenges.

• Ensure adherence to relevant working methods.
• Perform tasks to reduce environmental and health risks.
• Ensure high-quality task execution, suggest improvements where needed.
• Participate in evaluating working methods to minimize workplace and environmental incidents and quality issues.
• Ensure processes comply with internal and external requirements, are documented, continually measured, evaluated, improved, and secured.
• Be proactive in managing schedules and working within tight deadlines.

• Participate actively in the appraisal process, ensuring objectives are set and reviewed on time.
• Work closely with peers to achieve shared goals for NOV.

Experience, Education, and Skill-set Required

• Engineering degree or equivalent; Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• More than 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
• Broad experience in Oil & Gas brownfield and greenfield facilities with EPC contractors.
• Experience managing third parties is essential.
• Exposure to Process Technology is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to operate within a multicultural environment.
• High-level engineering management skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Knowledge of engineering design methods, procedures, and standards.
• Awareness of commercial, cost, schedule, and contractual aspects.
• Ability to influence and motivate others towards continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to mentor in safety principles and behaviors.
• Experience in Mechanical / Static Equipment Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with materials such as CS, LTCS, SS, Clad, LAS, HAS, NACE MR0175, HIC, etc., for various temperature and service conditions.
• Knowledge of design standardization, review checklists, and guidelines.
• Willingness to spend 10-20% of time abroad during project phases.
